Shenandoah Bahá’í Summer School

September 2nd - 4th, 2005 (Fri. to Sun. — Labor Day weekend)

Location: Massenetta Springs Conference Center
712 Massanetta Springs Rd Harrisonburg VA -- Rejuvenating retreat in the beautiful and serene Shenandoah Valley.

Theme: A System the Like of Which Mortal Eyes Have Never Witnessed

Roughly 150 years ago, Bahá’u’lláh outlined the framework for a world-embracing administrative system. He, as well as ‘Abdu’l-Bahá after him “clearly and specifically laid down a set of Laws, established definite institutions, and provided for the essentials of a Divine Economy. These are destined to be a pattern for future society, a supreme instrument for the establishment of the Most Great Peace, and the one agency for the unification of the world, and the proclamation of the reign of righteousness and justice up on the earth.”1

The administrative system exists today in its embryonic form. What is the nature of this embryo that exists? What is it destined to become? How can we grow and nurture it into full maturity?

The aim of this year’s summer school is to better understand that “most wondrous System” so that we can play our part in the building of this administrative system.

1 Shoghi Effendi, quoted in intro to “World Order of Bahá’u’lláh”.

Special Guests: Speakers to include: Dr. Lameh Fananapazir, Sovaida and Baharieh Ma’ani, authors of the recently published book Laws of the Kitab-I-Aqdas; Lawrence Miller, author of the soon-to-be released, Spiritual Enterprise and The Power of "U": How Great Organizations Create Unity of Effort and Energy in a Fractured World
