Báhá’u’lláh

(1817-1892) Mírzá Husayn-`Alí, who assumed this title meaning the “Glory of God” in Arabic, was the Founder of the Bahá’í Faith. He declared His mission as the Promised One of the world’s religions in April 1863 and passed away in `Akká, Palestine, after forty years of imprisonment, banishment, and house arrest. Bahá’u’lláh’s writings are considered by Bahá’ís to be direct revelation from God.

The Core Curriculum Lesson Planning Guides on Bahá’u’lláh combine the former Strand Booklet and Learning Activities Booklet into one integrated format with detailed step-by-step suggested activities. The Lesson Planning Guides are aligned to the Core Curriculum Scope and Sequence, with Level One pertaining to ages 6-8, Level Two ages 9-11, and Level Three ages 12-14. 	“Yea, Verily!”, is a lesson plan for children’s classes, followed by an intergenerational devotional gathering open to all. The entire activity is suitable for a general audience, gathered for the purpose of reflecting on the Suffering of Bahá’u’lláh in the Siyáh-Chál and His Mission to transform the world. The Báb

(1819-1850) Siyyid `Alí-Muhammad, who assumed the title of the Báb, meaning “Gate”, was the Prophet-Founder of the Bábí Faith and the Forerunner of Bahá’u’lláh. The Báb proclaimed Himself to be the Promised One of Islám and announced that His mission was to alert the people to the imminent advent of “Him Whom God shall make manifest,” namely, Bahá’u’lláh. Because of these claims, the Báb was executed by order of Násiri’d-Dín Sháh on 9 July 1850.

‘Abdu’l-Bahá

(1844-1921) Son of Bahá’u’lláh, ‘Abdu’l-Bahá was designated His successor and authorized interpreter of His writings. Author of some 27,000 writings (mostly letters); ‘Abdu’l-Bahá is considered the infallible interpreter of His father’s writings and a perfect example of how to live a Bahá’í life. He chose the name ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, meaning “Servant of Bahá’u’lláh.”
